An Achievement for Electric Components and Powertrain Systems for Commercial Vehicles

The Transit Connect Electric was presented to the U.S. Department of Energy officials, Vehicle Technologies Program, Clean Cities, and the staff of the Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy at DOE Headquarters. The vehicle was driven around L’Enfant Promenade and down Independence Ave. by several DOE staff. Representatives from Azure Dynamics and Johnson Controls provided DOE staff with the opportunity to experience a first generation commercial EV, and demonstrate improvements to components cost reduction, enhanced vehicle performance and assistance in the mass adoption of such vehicles.
